Shape the Future of Sustainable Events with Allez l’Eco
A learning journey from Cyprus to Luxembourg – and from ideas to action
What makes an event truly sustainable?
Is it the way we travel, the food we serve, the material we use, the waste we prevent, the way we bring people together?
Allez l’Éco, GaiaLux’s Erasmus+ project, invites young people aged 16+ and youth workers to explore these questions and turn them into practical solutions through a unique blended learning journey combining international mobility, online learning, hands-on workshops and rel-life event experence.
Developed by GaiaLux and its European partners CiACT and FTS through the Erasmus+ programme, Allez l’Eco is based on the European GreenComp framework and focuses on developing the green competences needed to imagine and organize sustainable events. Participants will discover practical solutions to reduce waste and carbon emissions, make more responsible choices about materials and food, promote circular practices and explore how sustainability can be integrated into every stage of event planning.
From learning to doing
The journey begins in Cyprus, continues through a series of online and practical activities in Luxembourg, and culminates in a European Sustainable Event codesigned and delivered by the participants themselves.
14–18 September 2026 | International Training Mobility – Cyprus Nicosia
The learning journey begins with an international Training the Trainer mobility in Cyprus.
Participants will explore the Allez l’Éco Learning Platform and methodology, developed collaboratively by the project partners over the past months, while strengthening their competences in non-formal education and sustainable event management.
The mobility will also provide an opportunity to exchange experiences, ideas and good practices with the Allez l’Éco partners CiACT, FTS and GaiaLux.
🌿27 September 2026 | Luxembourg Eco Walk & Run
How can we recognize a sustainable event in practice?
Participants will have the opportunity to observe and analyse sustainability measures during the Eco Walk & Run, organized with EU Climate Pact Ambassadors and local partners.
The experience will provide real-life examples, ideas and challenges that will feed directly into the development of the final Allez l’Eco event.
💻1, 8 & 15 October 2026 | Online Learning Workshops
The next stage takes place online.
Three interactive online sessions will introduce participants to the project’s digital learning modules.
During three interactive sessions, participants will explore the Allez l’Eco digital learning modules and platform and work through self-assessment activities, collaborative exercises and practical challenges.
Together, they will begin designing the final event – making decisions, sharing responsibilities and turning sustainability principles into concrete choices.
♻️🍽️ 11 September, 9, 16, 17 & 22 October and 12 November 2026 | Hands-on Workshops in Luxembourg
The learning continues through practical workshops led by specialists in textiles, circularity, food and sustainable cooking.
Participants will experiment with upcycling and circular textile practices, explore sustainable cooking and local sourcing, and learn practical strategies to prevent and reduce food waste.
The emphasis is on learning by doing: transforming ideas and concepts into practical solutions that can be used in future events and everyday life.
🌍 14 November 2026 , |The Final European Sustainable Event
The learning journey culminates in a public Final European Sustainable Event, co-designed and delivered by the participants in collaboration with project and local partners.
The event will bring together workshops, exchanges of good practices, collaborative activities, an Eco Walk & Run and the presentation of the results of the Allez l’Éco project.
It will be a chance not only to showcase what participants have learned, but also to demonstrate how sustainable events can become spaces for learning, creativity, participation and positive change.
🎓 A learning journey recognised through Youthpass
Participants who actively take part in most of the programme will receive a Youthpass Certificate, recognising the knowledge, skills and competences developed throughout their learning journey.
Youthpass will encourage participants to reflect on what they have learned and how their competences have evolved through international mobility, digital learning, practical workshops and teamwork.
