Program and Sessions Overview
OVERVIEW OF GAIALUX EVENTS AT LUGA
Anchored in the themes of SDG 11 (with links to SDGs 6, 8, 12, and 15), this series of events organized by Gaialux for the LUGA Festival will explore practical pathways toward regenerative communities.
Through art, readings, public debate, and creative experiences, participants will engage with the challenges and possibilities of building new regenerative connections with Nature in our cities.
🌿 2 October – 17h30 – 19h00 | VERNISSAGE I.D.E.E. “Imaginez la Durabilité Ecosocial Ensemble”
An opening evening where the music of Filippo Pizzoli and readings by Caterina Fava – inspired by the I.D.E.E. artists’ creations – will guide you through the I.D.E.E. artworks illustrating the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
🌿 3 October – 13h00 – 15h00. 15h00 – 17h00 | Atelier de Mouvement Somatique Créatif
Led by Caterina Fava, this workshop is an invitation to rediscover the body as a space of presence, relationship, and well-being, using the Laban/Bartenieff movement analysis system. Nature and the principles of sustainability (SDGs) will serve as inspiration, dialoguing with the language of the body and opening new forms of listening and connection.
🌿 4 October – 13h00 – 17h00 | Public Debate: ‘From Desertification to Regeneration: Rethinking Communities that Heal through Art and Case Studies’.
Through photo reportage, innovative research insights from post-growth perspectives, and testimonies from real case studies, we will explore not only the visible signs of ecological collapse – and the often-unheard human stories behind them – but also concrete examples of urban space regeneration, bringing case studies from the Caribbean area to the heart of Luxembourg.
With Corrado Costa, Leading Researcher at the Italian Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA), Rome; Maria Rita Palattella, Principal Scientist & Project Coordinator, LIFE – Climate‑Resilient Agri‑Food Systems, LIST, Luxembourg; Francesco Sarracino, Senior Economist & Research Unit Leader at STATEC, Luxembourg; Vanessa Ioannoni, Amateur photographer and senior researcher at the National Statistics Institute of Italy (ISTAT). Facilitated by Anna Sabadash and Tiziana Tamborrini, Gaialux
🌿 5 October – 15h00 – 17h00 | Spot, Sketch & Share! Creative Art Workshop
A participatory art session with the artist Yang Yang, offers the opportunity to reimagine our relationship with Nature in urban spaces through various techniques, including wild sketching, oil and acrylic painting, and drawing. The postcards created will also mark the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, inspiring creative climate actions while engaging citizens in playful yet meaningful reflection.
