
I.D.E.E. Art Expo’ will offer an imaginative and artistic perspective on the multidimensional facets of the ecological crisis. The inspiring conceptual framework is the UN Agenda 2030: a United Nations blueprint, signed in 2015, which calls for a global partnership to improve the social, economic, and environmental conditions of our planet, according to the principles of sustainability, equality, and justice.
I.D.E.E. – concept of the project

Concept: IDEE is an itinerant creative and educational journey that will illustrate, with visual artworks, the challenges of the climate crisis, through the 17 objectives of sustainable development, and will offer a more general reflection on the contemporary ecological and social crisis-
Target audience: Youth are the main beneficiaries of the project: (i) Pupils from different schools involved; (ii) Young people from the Communes involved (i.e. Maison des Jeunes and other youth centers);
Partners: (i) 17 individual artists who have joined the project (here); (ii) Coolture asbl; Art’shock clown asbl; Youth4Planet; Caritas Plaidon Responsible; Climate Commission and Citizen Maison Commune of Mamer; Eurostat; EU Climate Pact Ambassador; Sustainability Officer of University of Luxembourg (here).
Output: (i) IDEE Expo’, made by 17 panels illustrating the 17 SDGs; (ii) A virtual IDEE Expo’’, made of narrative and scientific contents; (iii) Pedagogical journey and art Concourse with a final event in Mamer Park in June
IDEE main activities and outputs : Expo’ production and exhibition
A1. IDEE Expo’
v IDEE Expo’ will be realized by artists in Luxembourg;
v Each of the artists joining IDEE will illustrate an SDG of the Agenda 2030, following the IDEE regulations;
v IDEE Virtual Expo’ – made of narrative and scientific contents – will be connected to the physical Expo’ through QR codes;
v The Expo’ will be finalized by April 2024.
v The artworks will be translated in final aluminium panels (exposable also outside)
A2. IDEE Expo’ will be exhibited in schools and public spaces
v IDEE Expo’ – in progress – can start its journey in schools and public spaces, starting from October 2023;
v Both panels and the original physical artworks will be exhibited – according to a calendar to be finalized.
v Artists will be invited to explain their works at the inauguration of the Exhibitions and/or through video telling uploaded in the Virtual Expo’; Artworks by students will be gradually included while they are ready and students will be invited to the public and school events to present their work (see below – Table 2).
SCHOOL INVOLVEMENT: 3 possible levels, not mutually exclusive
B1. Hosting the Expo’ v Schools are invited to host the Expo for a minimum of 2 weeks. v Hosting the Expo’ will be inaugurated with a workshop introducing the Expo’ which is already an educational toolkit made of narrative-storytelling-video-telling content elaborated in collaboration with experts and artists of s IDEE. |
B2. Participating in the art production v Students and art teachers will join I.D.E.E. producing artworks dedicated to one of the SDGs. v I.D.E.E. Expo’ will serve as an inspirational source: I.D.E.E. artists will share videos explaining their work and/or are available to come in person. v Arts from students will become part of the Expo’ participating in the public Exhibitions scheduled during the year. Students will be invited to participate and present their artwork. |
B3. Participating in workshops with Gaialux on Agenda 2030 v Workshops can be an independent level but also accompany points 1 and 2. v Introduction to the Agenda 2030. v Scientific workshops, conferences, and art workshops. |
